Addiction Therapist or Addiction Counselor - Mellwood Program
Provides assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and case management for clients with substance abuse disorders.
The ideal candidate has a (CAC) Certified Addiction Counselor and previous experience treating chemically dependent/mentally challenged clients. Must be First Aid and CPR certified as of the date of employment, and maintain it throughout employment. If working in Maryland, must be approved, licensed or certified as an alcohol and drug counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; approved by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; or licensed, certified, or permitted under the Health Occupations Article, Annotated Code of Maryland to provide substance abuse treatment within 90 days of employment. If working in Washington, DC, must meet DC Municipal Regulations Chapter 73 as a registered addictions counselor within 90 days of employment.
The Addictions Therapist must have a related Master’s Degree.
The ideal Addictions Counselor has a related Bachelor’s Degree.
Family Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) - Mellwood Program
Provides care for women in residential substance abuse treatment and their young children. Performs health maintenance, management of acute and chronic medical problems, and coordination of care.
Must be certified to practice in Maryland. Must also be CPR certified as of the date of employment and maintain it throughout employment. The ideal candidate has basic computer skills and experience or interest in substance abuse and dual diagnosis.
Therapist - Co-Occurring Disorders Program
Provides assessments, Axis I-IV diagnosis per criteria from the diagnostic statistics manual (DSM), integrated co-occurring treatment planning, and case management. Addresses mental health issues during one-on-one individual therapy sessions by providing cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational enhancement therapy, and psycho-education.
Must have a Master’s Degree in a related profession. The ideal candidate has either a LCPC or LCSW-C, or is in the process of obtaining the license. Must be First Aid and CPR certified as of the date of employment, and maintain it throughout employment. If working in Maryland, must be approved, licensed or certified as an alcohol and drug counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; approved by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; or licensed, certified, or permitted under the Health Occupations Article, Annotated Code of Maryland to provide substance abuse treatment within 90 days of employment. Residential Monitor - Co-Occurring Disorders Program
Provides general supervision to clients that ensure their safety at organizational facilities/programs. Ensures a smooth transfer of operations between shifts.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and previous work experience with the public. Must be First Aid and CPR certified as of the date of employment, and maintain it throughout employment.
Kitchen Manager/Food Services (PT and flexible roles)
Prepares and/or oversees the preparation of meals for organizational clients. Facilitates the orientation and training of kitchen workers in food preparation, food safety handling and kitchen maintenance in compliance with federal health regulations. Orders food and related supplies.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, previous related experience, and is certified in food sanitation management. Must be First Aid and CPR certified as of the date of employment, and maintain it throughout employment.
Nurse (RN or LPN) - DC Program
Ensures quality medical care to substance abuse clients. Maintains clients medical records. Educates staff and clients on medical issues. Conducts intakes and assessments of new clients. Coordinates external medical, psychiatric, and psychological appointments, and discharges.
The ideal candidate has a current RN license to practice nursing in the state where they work. Previous related experience is preferred. Must be CPR certified as of the date of employment, and maintain it throughout employment.
Jessup and Hagerstown
Inmate Assessment Counselor
Administers, scores and interprets the Texas Christian University Drug Screen II, Criminal Sentiment Scale, and the Addiction Severity Index to inmates housed in a correctional setting.
A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. The ideal candidate has a (CAC) Certified Addiction Counselor and previous experience treating chemically dependent/mentally challenged clients. Must be willing to travel between Jessup and Hagerstown. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. If working in Maryland, must be approved, licensed or certified as an alcohol and drug counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; approved by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; or licensed, certified, or permitted under the Health Occupations Article, Annotated Code of Maryland to provide substance abuse treatment within 90 days of employment.
