Nancy Dudley Heaslip - During her fifteen-year career, she has worked for the Reagan and Bush I White House anti-drug efforts and as an editor on contract with the Clinton White House Drug Office. She is currently writing a communications plan for the Bush White House to promote the use of brain imaging technology in addiction research.

Susan R. Cantor - Susan Cantor has served on the Board of Directors for Second Genesis since the mid 1980's. Cantor received a graduate degree in mathematics from Harvard University. She taught mathematics in the school systems of Lexington, Massachusetts and Montgomery County, Maryland. While raising her own children, she tutored mathematics and wrote mathematics questions for "It's Academic." Cantor is a loving mother of two and a devoted grandmother of three. She has been happily married for 41 years to franchise lawyer, Arthur Cantor. |

Mike Jacobs - Mike Jacobs is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Accounting Assets, Inc. and has 20 years of specialized staffing management experience. Prior to Accounting Assets, his experience included accounting and general management positions in the development of commercial property management sites from start-up to completion, with Forbes of Virginia, Inc. Jacbos received his Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University, and graduated from the Second Genesis Alexandria House in 1982.

Jane Abraham - For over 15 years, Jane Abraham served as a Retail and Fashion Coordinator for Bloomingdales. Throughout her life, she has remained committed to various community organizations including the Aaron & Lillie Straus Foundation; the Jewish Historical Society; Hebrew Homes of Maryland; and the Lombardi Cancer Center. She has generously supported Second Genesis for years and served as Gala Chairperson in 1996. Abraham is also a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Robert E. ("Bob") Carlstrom, Jr. - Bob Carlstrom is a Principal at Navigant Consulting, Inc., a NYSE traded independent consulting firm providing professional services to assist clients, which are in highly regulated industry sectors undergoing significant change, to address the challenges of risk, uncertainty, and market distress with practical solutions to enable them to protect their market cap. Previously, he co-founded and built two businesses, the first of which became, during his tenure as CEO, one of the largest independent diversified government, international and public relations and federal marketing consulting firm in Washington, DC. Second, he also rebuilt a management investment team to undertake a series of acquisitions to form a national company in the metals finishing industry, acquiring six operation companies in 5 states, and serving as interim COO. In addition, he served as a senior executive in the White House Office of Management and Budget. Carlstrom earned his B.A. in Political Science from Augustana College (IL) and has studied general management, public administration, and law at American University (DC) and Wayne State University (MI).

Ed Romanoff - Ed Romanoff is the Founder, President and CEO of PineRock Productions, Inc., a full-service business communications company headquartered in Washington, DC. The company, founded in 1996, specializes in the design and production of marketing and internal communications campaigns for Corporations, Associations and other organizations. The company has won many awards including several Golden Eagle Awards from the New York Film Festival. Clients include: Coca-Cola, Capitol One Financial, Porsche North America, McKesson and Exxon Mobil. An active member in the community, he spends much of his time volunteering for fundraising efforts as well as tutoring. Romanoff is an avid musician and pursues a wide range of interests that include photography, writing, golf and tennis.

Dan Rosenthal - Dan Rosenthal holds an AAF certificate in marketing from Harvard University and a BA from the University of Nebraska. He has served on the Board of Second Genesis for two years. President and Creative Director of the Dan Rosenthal Co., he has been listed among Forbes Magazine's "Top 100 Creative People in the Country" and is the recipient of many prestigious awards for his outstanding creativity from centers of design in New York, London, Chicago and Los Angeles. Included among his accolades are: two first place Clio Awards, three first place Addy Awards, a first place London International Award, and the 2003 AAF Silver Medal.

The Honorable Edgar P. Silver - Retired Judge Edgar P. Silver, known widely in Maryland political circles simply as "the Judge," has had a remarkable and successful career in law and politics. Elected to the Maryland General Assembly in 1954, Judge Silver served on the House Judiciary Committee for eight years, the House Ways and Means Committee for three years, and on the Standing Committee on Motor Vehicles as its Chairman for ten years. He was appointed to the Baltimore City Municipal Court (which became the District Court) in 1965, and later, in 1975, Governor Blair Lee appointed him to the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. Judge Silver has been honored by numerous charitable and community groups over the past 25 years and has been associated in an "of counsel" role with the firm since its inception.

J. Michael McGuinness -
J. Michael McGuinness, MSW, is currently serving as the Executive Director of Second Genesis and has been with the organization for the past five years. Initially serving as the Director of Admissions, Vice President of Admissions and Business Development and since February of 2006 as the Senior Vice President of Operations. He received his Masters in Social Work from New York University, a diploma in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the New York Institute for Psychoanalytic Education and Training and a certification in social work supervision from the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Services.
For the past sixteen years Mr. McGuinness’ experience in the health field has ranged from being a primary therapist in mental health facilities working with families, children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of emotional problems to working with individuals who had begun to abuse or who had become dependent on drugs or alcohol. He has established and clinically and administratively directed several comprehensive and integrated substance abuse service systems in the New York City area.
During his professional career he has participated in The National Resource Center for Foster Care and Permanency Planning: Bridging the Gap: Permanency Planning with Drug Affected Families. He served on the External Committee for the Administration for Children Services in New York City, Family-to-Family Conference Committee and as a Community District Facilitator at the Brooklyn Family to Family Conference sponsored by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. He was part of the Mayor’s Interagency Task Force on Substance Abuse Prevention, Treatment and Control in the District of Columbia. He is also an active member of the Maryland Addiction Directors Counsel, Addiction Treatment Advocates of Maryland and the Baltimore Directorate.
Mr. McGuinness is devoted to the cause that “addictive solutions to problems can be stopped and that no single treatment approach is appropriate to all individuals. Matching services to needs is critical if individuals are to become productive and functioning in the family, workplace and community.”
He is also a devoted husband and an enormously proud father of a bright and beautiful 11-year-old girl.
