Maryland/DC Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center

Programs and Houses

The four facilities that encompass Second Genesis’s residential programs are based on the therapeutic community treatment model. We have two traditional therapeutic communities, as well as two homes for a special population of clients. The traditional therapeutic communities, or drug rehab centers, are the Crownsville House in Anne Arundel, MD and the Foster Shannon House of Columbia Heights, Washington DC.

*Our Co-Occurring home, adjacent to the Anne Arundel house, serves alcohol and drug addicted individuals with additional mental health concerns.

*A special population of women, including those who are pregnant or with their children, are served at the Mellwood House in Upper Marlboro, MD.

Alternatives to Incarceration

*Before contacting our admissions office, please speak with your attorney or parole officer about the strategies for receiving treatment.

From the beginning, we have collaborated with the criminal justice system to provide services that identify and meet the treatment needs of alcohol and drug-dependent offenders. We work together to break the cycle of arrest, addiction, and recidivism.
