Do you provide after-care/continuing care?
As a part of becoming a graduate of Second Genesis, it is required that all clients create a community re-entry plan in which they outline the basic necessities for a successful recovery. Sponsorship and 12-step meetings are strongly advocated as part of the graduates’ life after leaving Second Genesis. We refer clients to our extensive list of allied organizations. We provide continuing out-patient care at our Harvard Street facility. Soon, we will be expanding our out-patient services at our Minnesota Avenue facility.
Is your program based on a 12-step model?
Education and orientation to the 12-step philosophy and programs are an integral part of the residential, outpatient, and intensive outpatient programs. Community support group participation is strongly supported and encouraged throughout treatment, and participation in these groups is included in every client’s discharge plan. Meeting schedules and appropriate phone contact numbers are provided.
How long is the program, and how long do I have to come?
Depending upon the client’s needs, Second Genesis will tailor the program to determine the length of the resident’s visit. 28 days is the minimum length of stay.
